Ending Aids
PBS NOVA

We created in-show explainer animations for ‘Ending HIV in America’, a story of both struggle and triumph, showing how the fight against HIV reshaped the world of science and medicine, as healthcare providers confront the challenge of getting treatments to the people who need them most.

We created small explainer animations within the show to simply explain the cycle of HIV, how it reproduces within the body and how individual drugs prevent this process from happening. Drugs are represented by simple colourful shapes in contrast to the more grainy textures of the cellular processes of HIV.

Simple illustration to Treatment as Prevention (TasP) refers to the use of anti-HIV drugs by someone who has HIV to stay healthy and to reduce the chance of transmitting HIV to others.

Simple illustration to demonstrate Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), an HIV prevention strategy that enables HIV-negative people to stay HIV-negative by taking anti-HIV drugs before they are exposed to HIV.

Graphs showing the contrast between deaths before and after the development of prevention medications.

Titles and astons stylings.
